Fellowship Dates: Aug. 30 – Sep. 4 2016

The Oceanic Peace Revolution Fellowship, entitled “Peace In + Peace Out = Sustainable World Peace”, will bring together a group of young people from all Oceanian countries who are interested in learning and exploring self-development as a primary means to make this world a better place to live. This retreat aims to promote a culture of peace, peace education, conflict prevention and youth empowerment through the primary means of self-development and meditation.

We live in a world which is often chaotic, stressful and where many people live their lives in situations which are out of their control. By developing personal skills, people can learn to be less reactive to emotions, stress, and challenging external environments and instead become proactive towards real and meaningful world change. Kolonia, Pohnpei (April 5, 2016) – The FSM Islander Arts Society (FIAS) held an art exhibition on March 31st, during Cultural Day at the Pohnpei Governor’s building.  FIAS is a new organization that intends to collect and promote FSM art both at home and abroad.

TJ Rush was crowned the new Open Men’s winner while Georgimah Row retained her women’s title yesterday.

Rush, 19 of the Federated State of Micronesia beat Solomon’s Christinnoh Fujiyama (4-0, 4-2) in the final of the Easter Tennis   Championship at the Regional Tennis Complex in Lautoka.

YAP & CHUUK, FSM (Embassy of the PRC in the FSM, March 18, 2016) — From February 3rd to 11th, DCM and Counsellor Li Cuiying visited Yap and Chuuk States to announce 2016/2017 Chinese Government Scholarship Program on six campuses[, such] as College of Micronesia-Yap, FSM Fisheries and Maritime [Institute], Yap High School, Yap Seventh Day High School, College of Micronesia-Chuuk and Xavier high school.

…meanwhile, she gave speeches on China development and bilateral relations between China and FSM. Nearly 500 students and teachers attended the presentation.

POHNPEI, FSM (Embassy of the PRC in the FSM, March 16, 2016) — 2016 Chinese Government Scholarship Program was announced on March 16th at the Campus of the PICS High School-FSM. Ambassador Li Jie and Principal of PICS High School, Kenio Frank attended.

Ambassador Li Jie made a remark on China Development and the bilateral relationship between China and FSM and donated some books and sports facilities to the school. There are over 300 students attended this presentation.

College Scholarship is to encourage FSM citizens to pursue a post-high school education.  Any FSM citizen who is a high school senior, or a currently enrolled college student, or high school graduate (or GED) and is accepted to attend an accredited institution of higher education during the upcoming academic year will be considered.
