University Human Resources at University of Maryland is seeking a Coordinator of Asian American & Pacific Islander Student Involvement & Advocacy.

Position Summary:

Responsible for fostering community among Asian American and Pacific Islander students and leaders, serving as an advocate for the needs of AAPI students in and out of the classroom, and promoting the intellectual, personal, social, leadership, and identity development of AAPI students. The Coordinator will advise AAPI student organizations and leaders and support their efforts in community and program development.

White_House_WashingtonThe White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders offers full-time internships year round (spring, summer, and fall). Part-time applicants who can commit to at least 20 hours a week will be considered, although the Initiative prioritizes full-time applicants (32-40 hours a week). The following internship sites are available:

  • Washington, DC at the Initiative headquarters
  • Seattle, WA
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Remote (for communications/multimedia intern)

Impact of Scholarships Report“In partnership with the National Commission on Asian American and Pacific Islander Research in Education (CARE), APIASF released “The Impact of Scholarships for Asian American and Pacific Islander Community College Students: Findings from an Experimental Design Study.” This report which outlines the measurable impact of scholarship funding on the educational experiences and academic achievement of AAPI community college students from three AANAPISI campus partners: City College of San Francisco, De Anza College, and South Seattle College.”
