BenPeniamina “Ben” Tai’i is an Administration of Justice (AJ) transfer student attending University of Hawai’i at Hilo (UH Hilo).  He transferred from American Samoa Community College in Fall 2015 and participated in the Pacific Islander Summer Bridge Program.  He recently ran for the UH Hilo Student Association (UHHSA) as a Senator-At-Large in UHHSA’s Special Election held from Monday, May 2 to Wednesday, May 4. In bid to help people affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston, people of Rotuma donated 151 bags of dalo and 131 bags of husked coconut towards the Prime Minister’s Relief and rehabilitation programme on Tuesday.

Some chiefs came all the way from Rotuma to hand over the 151 bags of dalo and 131 bags of husked coconut.

Dela Cruz, who is originally from Pohnpei and lived on Saipan most of her life, joined Triple J in 2014, and took full control of lease management of Sandy Beach Homes, which has been fully occupied since 2012.

“Papa Mau The Wayfinder” is a feature-length documentary that takes a retrospective look at the influence of Mau Piailug, a native from the Micronesian atoll of Satawal, on reviving the art of non-instrument navigation in Polynesia.

Navigators in Satawal are chosen at birth and start training at an early age.

Simon Sanchez Sharks – Jovan Ignacio is a freshman who finished his first wrestling season at Iowa Lake Community College. He is doing well in school and training in the offseason. He plans to return to Guam for summer break and return to Iowa for sophomore year.

A group of surfers travelled to West Papua looking for waves and adventure but instead found the country’s people living under a brutal regime.

Their story is the subject of a film, called Isolated, that will screen at Pighouse Flicks in Byron Bay on Friday night, for one showing only.
